Trudon

Founded in 1643 in Paris, on Rue Saint-Honoré, Trudon is recognized as the oldest candle manufacturer in the world still in operation. During the 17th and 18th centuries, the Maison became the official supplier to the French royal court — a recognition that no other candle manufacturer has ever achieved — and later to Napoleon's imperial court. The historic motto of the house, Deo Regique Laborant ("They work for God and for the King," referring to bees), reflects an identity built around beeswax and artisanal rigor. In 1889, the family's successors received a Gold Medal at the Exposition Universelle in Paris for innovation in wax production. Today, Trudon is also recognized as an Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant, a French title that certifies the excellence of manufacturing know-how.
