Rigaud is a French perfume house founded in Paris in 1852, when Jean-Baptiste Rigaud left his native Auvergne to dedicate himself to the art of fragrances in the capital. Over the following decades, the house established itself as one of the reference points of Parisian perfumery, first with exotic essences and then with creations that circulated in the courts of Europe. The definitive turning point came in the second half of the twentieth century, when Mario Rigaud and his wife Viviane conceived a completely new format: the world's first bougie parfumée. From that moment on, Rigaud made home fragrance the heart of its identity, developing a patented wax that melts completely and using raw materials sourced from Grasse — the world capital of perfumery — with fragrance concentrations ranging from 8% to 12%. Each candle continues to be handcrafted, poured, and finished in France, according to the traditional criteria of the great French luxury houses.
