Around 1930, Lever Brothers — destined to merge with Margarine Unie to form Unilever — acquired the brand with the aim of taking it beyond Australian borders. Since then, Rexona has been distributed in over a hundred countries, where it is also marketed under the names Sure (UK), Degree (USA), and Shield (South Africa).
