Orphea

Orphea is a Swiss brand whose history began in the 1920s when inventor Johann Heinrich Bachmann developed a formula based on over four hundred plant extracts to naturally protect wool fabrics from insects. The name chosen for the brand refers to the mythological figure of Orpheus, a symbol of balance and harmony: the same qualities that Orphea seeks in its fragrances. Since the second half of the 1990s, thanks to an agreement with the Tavola Group — an Italian company specialized in home and personal care — the brand has found structured distribution in Italy, where Orphea Salvalana has become a market leader in fabric protection. Over time, the range has expanded to include home protection and personal protection, the latter based on the use of Citriodiol, a plant-based active ingredient extracted from Eucalyptus citriodora, introduced for the first time in Italy by Orphea as a natural alternative to traditional synthetic actives.
