Knize is a Viennese maison with roots in the great tailoring tradition of the 19th century: founded in 1858 by the Bohemian tailor Josef Kniže, the house quickly established itself as one of the references for luxury menswear, earning the title of supplier to the Habsburg imperial court. The historic headquarters at Graben 13, redesigned between 1910 and 1913 by architect Adolf Loos, is still operational in Vienna and represents an aesthetic manifesto: formal rigor, precious materials, no concessions to the superfluous. In 1925, from the Parisian atelier, the first fragrance of the maison was born — a move consistent with the brand's philosophy: to bring sartorial elegance into the realm of perfumery.
