Niaouli essential oil has a strong scent with a hint of eucalyptus. The soft, pale bark of this eucalyptus-like tree, native to New Caledonia and Australia, tears easily, like paper, hence the nickname "leather" tree. The tree is exploited in New Caledonia and especially in Madagascar. This essential oil is HEBBD (botanically and biochemically defined essential oil). | Did you know ? The Kanak have always wrapped newborns in niaouli bark to protect them and give them strength. Today, in New Caledonia, it is still used as a decoction to treat rheumatic pain, aches and colds.|
