Evening primrose vegetable oil is obtained from the first cold pressing of ORGANIC evening primrose seeds, carefully selected by sieving and dusting. There is only one pressing without heat or chemical (solvent) treatment. Evening primrose vegetable oil is rich in essential fatty acids of the family omega 6 (including linoleic acid) and phytosterols. Yellow to greenish in colour, it is characterized by a subtle and very light scent. With a liquid and clear appearance, it is neither dry nor greasy to the touch, which makes it very comfortable. Native to China and Europe, evening primrose flowers, also called Oenothera biennis in Latin, are cultivated in many countries, including Europe for the production of Puressentiel.| Its pretty yellow spike flowers bloom in the evening and close in the morning, hence the English name “evening primrose”. Flowering lasts only 24 hours and then turns into seed-rich pods. Harvesting is complex because it is carried out only when the seeds are ripe and they do not all ripen at the same time.
