Paraffin is used to moisturize and soften our skin. It melts at around 45°C and we dip our feet in it. Immediately after application, the paraffin becomes solid starting from the layer in contact with the skin. As the paraffin solidifies, it decreases in volume and therefore compresses the treated surface with an anti-edema effect.
