Used in traditional medicine for centuries, Manuka, or Leptospermum scoparium, is a shrub from the Myrtaceae family renowned for its exceptional properties. It grows naturally and wildly in the virgin lands of New Zealand in harsh climatic conditions. Its short flowering period, 4 to 6 weeks, makes its honey rare and unique. Several years of research and numerous scientific studies, conducted in particular by Professor Peter Molan, have shown that Manuka honey has a much higher activity than other honeys. The unique properties of Manuka honey are partly due to its non-peroxide activity resulting from the high concentration of methylglyoxal (MGO), the specific active ingredient in Manuka honey. The activity level of honey is guaranteed by the IAA ® index. More alto is the index, the higher the concentration of methylglyoxal, the more active the honey. | CHARACTERISTICS The IAA® 5+ index is the first activity level in the HUMER Active Manuka honey range. Its methylglyoxal (MGO) concentration is therefore greater than or equal to 83 mg/kg. HUMER offers you the possibility to verify the activity and concentration of methylglyoxal of your jar of Active Manuka 5+ honey by directly entering the number of lotto of the product. These analyzes are carried out systematically by an independent laboratory.| IAA® 5+ is characteristic of the region from Wellington to Greymouth in New Zealand. HUMER comes directly from New Zealand from carefully selected beekeepers.|
