Kal

Kal is a U.S. brand of dietary supplements founded in 1932 in Southern California, now based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Its origin is well-documented: the founder Chester Weldon, in search of a solution for his wife's health issues, formulated a calcium and phosphorus powder and decided to make this type of approach accessible to a wider audience, giving rise to what would become one of the very first brands in the emerging supplement industry in the United States. The name itself comes from Kalcium, the first product marketed. In the following decade, Kal was among the pioneers in introducing the concept of multiple supplementation — that is, the combination of several vitamins and minerals in a single formula — decades ahead of what has now become the market standard. Kal is a founding member of what is now the Natural Products Association, the reference body for quality standards in the industry. Production mainly occurs in-house, with an internal analysis laboratory overseeing every phase: from the selection of raw materials to testing the finished product.
