The Tea tree is an evergreen tree that, despite its name, has nothing in common with the tea plant (Camellia sinensis), but fa part of the Myrtaceae family and is native to Australia. Among the more than 300 varieties of Melaleuca alternifolia only una species produces tea tree oil. The content of cineole and terpinene-4-ol was examined and evaluated.
