Inflammation of the ear is characterized by pain, itching, and swelling, accompanied by pain caused by: regular exposure to moisture or water, prolonged wearing of a hearing aid, frequent use of shampoos, soaps, and gels. Note: Do not use this product if you have a perforated eardrum. Glycerol absorbs water retained in the swollen tissue, thus relieving pain. Its greasy texture allows glycerol to protect the ear canal. Lidocaine is used as a secondary agent as a local anesthetic to relieve pain.
