AHAVA — an acronym for AHAVA Dead Sea Laboratories — is an Israeli cosmetics brand founded in 1988, born from the intention to scientifically enhance the mineral resources of the Dead Sea. The name itself, in Hebrew, means love. The company is the only cosmetics brand to have its own laboratories and research and development facilities directly on the shores of the Dead Sea, a natural basin with one of the highest concentrations of dissolved minerals in the world. The technological heart of the range is the Osmoter™, a patented mineral complex — active since 1989 — obtained through solar evaporation of Dead Sea water and composed of a balanced blend of magnesium, sodium, potassium, and calcium, developed by the brand's internal research team.
