Founded in 1969 in the industrial belt of Bologna by Mario Gardini, Gama Italy Professional derives its name from the initials of the founder — GArdini, MArio — and has built its identity on a technical milestone still claimed today: the patent and launch of the first professional hair straightener in history. From that milestone, the Bologna-based brand has traversed over half a century of research applied to professional hair care appliances, expanding to be distributed in more than fifty countries, with its historic headquarters in San Pietro in Casale (Bologna) and production sites in Italy, Brazil, Argentina, and China. The common thread that runs through the entire production philosophy is the integration of Made in Italy design and proprietary technology, featuring brushless and AC motors developed and tested in-house.
