Thalgo is a French cosmetic brand founded in 1964 by pharmacist André Bouclet, who has been fascinated since the beginning of his career by the regenerative potential of seaweed and marine minerals. The name itself — a fusion of thalasso (from Greek: sea) and algues (in French: seaweed) — encapsulates the entire philosophy of the brand: to bring the biochemical complexity of the ocean into skincare. Bouclet was the first to develop a patented process for micro-exploding the cell walls of seaweed, making the active ingredients concentrated within them assimilable by the skin without degrading them.
