Keune Haircosmetics was founded in 1922 in Amsterdam, when Jan Keune — a trained pharmacist — began experimenting with formulas for professional hair care. From that small Dutch workshop, the brand has grown to be present in over ninety countries, while remaining an independent family-run business, now led by the third generation of the Keune family. The headquarters, research laboratories, and production facilities are still located in Soest, Netherlands, where every formulation is developed and produced in-house. Keune is also certified B Corp and claims a cruelty-free production: two commitments that reflect a concrete approach to sustainability, not just a statement of intent.
